The hostel is a charming restored building with a communal area inside and outside. The staff is so considerate that they will keep the guests awake from 07:00 the next day! Great facilities include a shared lounge, barbecue, bike rental, luggage storage, and laundry services.
Very deeply saddening for me that I couldn't find a rocket to travel to the nearest airport, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. Oh well, I guess I'll have to settle for a different means of transportation.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of a bustling shopping district, making it easy to explore the local shops and find unique souvenirs. Additionally, it is just a short walk away from several popular sightseeing spots, allowing guests to easily immerse themselves in the city's rich culture. Furthermore, the hotel is also close to the nearest metro station, making it convenient for guests to travel to and from the Hangzhou East railway station.
The private rooms in the hotel seem to suffer from humidity issues, resulting in an unpleasant smell.

The location was absolutely perfect for us, within a short walk to the metro station and lakeside. The old town shopping district was right at our doorstep, and there were many modern shopping malls nearby. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, providing great recommendations for restaurants. The double room was beautiful, with a huge and super comfortable bed. The courtyard was quiet and peaceful, and the bar/cafe was a great place to relax. The hostel had a cosy atmosphere and felt like a home away from home. The restaurant next door was fantastic, offering a mix of Chinese and western options. The main reception area had a relaxing and cosy seating area. The room was equipped with all the essentials, and I loved that there was an English book swap available. our stay at this 21st Century hostel was amazing, and we would definitely book again.

We had a great experience staying at this guest house in the heart of the old town. Its location is perfect, tucked away in a quiet alley but still within walking distance of the metro and popular tourist attractions. the room was small but very clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. the staff was friendly and helpful, providing us with recommendations for local eateries. the common room was cozy, and the internet connection was reliable. we had a pleasant stay here.
The social atmosphere at the guest house could have been better. Despite the staff being friendly, there were limited social activities and the language barrier made it difficult to get recommendations and information about the area.

The value for money at this guest house was excellent, with cute and comfortable rooms at a good price. The location was ideal, right at the Hefang Ancient street and within walking distance of the West Lake. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and even organized a stress-free group tour for us.
The breakfast experience could have been improved with more variety and options.

I had a wonderful stay at Hofang Guest House for five nights while exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. They even let me borrow a map for free! The 8 bed dorm was surprisingly spacious and had all the amenities I needed, including large lockers, personal chargers, and reading lights. The ensuite was unique with separate rooms for the toilet, sink, and shower, ensuring convenience and privacy. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the common area was small but cozy. The café served delicious and generous breakfasts. The location was perfect, close to the west lake, metro, bus stops, and a vibrant shopping street.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough!
